Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
August 18th, 2019 by Holden

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the last poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest gamblers anywhere in the world. While competing in net poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all in. I believe Hansen is a great poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to play at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world at times. The best players in the world could be players you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen gambling on online poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in big stakes omaha high and Holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in cash rounds?
