NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker contender on the planet by most of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn anything he possibly could about poker. Phil would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people annihilate his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker players on the planet.

Phil began playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an undying passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and constantly strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a regular basis.
